Citrus Smoothie

From Self's November 2008 feature of Eat Healthy All Week, here is a recipe for a refreshing and healthy citrus smoothie.


Citrus Smoothie


Serves 1

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 cup nonfat plain yogurt
  • 1/2 cup of ice
  • 1/2 banana
  • 2 tablespoons quick-cooking oats
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon orange juice concentrate
  • 1 teaspoon grated orange zest
  • 1/2 cup skim milk
  • 2 large fresh strawberries, thinly sliced

PREPARATION

  1. Blend all ingredients except strawberries in a blender or food processor until smooth. Top with berries and serve.
